After the opening of a store in New York, Chengdu and Dubai, Italian brand Il Gufo, which sells apparel for both infants and children’s wear, has opened a new boutique in Via San Pietro all ‘Orto 22 in Milan, replacing the store in Via Verri.
The store comprises a space of 70 square metres dedicated to infants and a basement of 100 square metres dedicated to children aged between 10-14.
Il Gufo is strategically strengthening its position in the Italian retail market by locating its store in one of the capital’s most prestigious shopping streets.
As Alessandra Chiavelli, brand managing director, said, this opening represented an important step towards an ambitious plan for international expansion which will include, in the near future, the opening of other stores in the main strategic capitals.
“For the second half of 2015, we are set to open a store in Paris, and then perhaps a second store in the US, either New York or Miami. Meanwhile, we are increasing our retail expansion in China and Japan, where we are plan to open a series of corners within the next 2-5 years. We expect to close this year with an aggregate turnover growth of 5% compared with 27 million euro in 2013,” concluded Chiavelli.
The brand also celebrated its second collaboration with The Woolmark Company, creating an A/W 2014-15 capsule collection which features products made from 100% Merino wool and are machine washable.
