Franchising, retail, business

There's something very particular about a newspaper's core personality, that safeguards a deep sense of its spirit, that makes it easy to recognize, any time, any place.
I recall when Fabrizio Galimberti, a longtime writer and editor at this newspaper, told me years ago: no one can hope to truly know Italy if they haven't read Il Sole 24 Ore, its daily report on the economy and finance, its wealth of valuable information for the professional class and business owners, its commitment to content that based on facts, and to a high level of cultural engagement.
This is Il Sole 24 Ore: a crisp, essential way of providing information that strives to guarantee an accurate narrative of the nation, that expresses itself in the precise science of numbers and that has a history of never shying away from its responsibilities.
Starting today, we will realize our most ambitious dream: Il Sole 24 Ore's unique reporting on Italy will educate the world, using the language of business and never straying from its canons - of substance and brevity.
We will be the ones to explain, to interpret our nation for the international investment community. It's called Italy24 (available free for ten days on the website www.italy24.ilsole24ore.com), the first Italian digital daily newspaper entirely in English and entirely dedicated to Italy.
We want to, we are proud to, report on our country as it really is, not through the tropes and stereotypes that can change and cheapen its physiognomy. Our goal is to report on this nation without ever ignoring its vices (they are many and deep-rooted) but also exploring the uniqueness of its manufacturing, that combination of innovation and expertise, the beauty of its lands and its artisanal talent; describing a certain concept of Made In Italy rooted in work and life, a cultural and cosmopolitan quality that is truly authentic, and at the same time, at its biggest blunders and embarrassments.
We'll do it our way, using all the sections of Sole 24 Ore, plus a few more. We will do it with our usual focus and without ever sacrificing the journalistic excellence that begins with the authoritative words of the print edition of Il Sole, and becomes Lexicon in Italy24: an English-language encyclopedia written by journalists and by this paper's experts that offers an interactive snapshot of every Italian province (its per capita GDP, consumption, unemployment, bank deposits, exports, broadband coverage, civil cases, and so forth), but also covers the places not to miss, the most important monuments, the best-known companies and personalities; there won't be a single institution, public company, party, political leader, local official or government minister that Italy24 wont' be able to tell you all about with the simple click of a mouse.
We want to say it clearly: the worldwide demand for information about Italy - that runs the gamut from politics to finance, from the real economy to culture, from tax policy to bureaucracy, is invested in the equilibria of the old and the new Europe (that must be) and doesn't deserve to be the absolute prerogative of foreign information sources. For the first time, an Italian newspaper and its editorial staff have decided to do it instead, every day, with their own exclusive content, their authoritative knowledge that can, and in fact does, correspond with the national interest, with truth: using the language of business to explain that which often doesn't wish to be understood.
I often say that there's no such thing as a print Il Sole 24 Ore but rather a “multimedia system” of Il Sole with its various digital, vertical and specialized offerings (Tax Policy, Law, Labor, House & Land, School, Local Agencies, Finance, Financial Consulting, Insurance). Others are coming soon.
These are tools combining information, technical analysis and data. And now they are joined by the “comet” of Italy24, which provides and international design to all our content - from core economic, financial and regulatory topics, to the culture section of Domenica del Sole. I'd like to emphasize that this multimedia platform is only possible and only exists because of the newspaper, which in reality is like four paper - news, economy, finance, the profession world. The newspaper is the soul, the standard bearer of this company information group and the way it does things. If the new product is recognized all over the world, if, in its reporting of Italy's daily life, the influence of the old Sole comes through, I am certain we will have won the most important battle of innovation.
