There Are Many Crowdfunding Promotion Traps Out There Do Not Fall In A Sink Hole!
We intend not to name services in this post, but rather inform you of the crowdfunding promotion traps currently circulating the net. Fellow CrowdClan members brought this to our attention recently, so now we will formally address the issue.

Promises Or Exaggerations?
Firstly, as a word of warning, be wary of third-party crowdfunding promotion services. Paying a few hundred dollars for a “guaranteed” success sounds suspect most likely because it is. When campaigns fall into a rut, such services may appear to be the quickest solution, but often this leads to wasted funds and/or mismanagement.
Based on previous articles and case studies, we know that crowdfunding promotion takes months of planning, preparation, and dedication: How can a service condense this into a single two-to-four week period? Somehow, many services boast packages of this duration, promising a flood of donations right away. Often included in these packages is access to large thriving networks, many of which populated by bots, paid followers, and other random connections. In these two offerings alone, we see problems.
How To Spot Crowdfunding Promotion Traps!
A campaign needs consistency from start to finish. Beginning, ending, or picking up a service midway jeopardizes this element. Not to mention, automated services often produce and market content with little peer-to-peer interaction. You should favour pointed, dedicated networks, those built around a single project, not struggling or competing for attention. Also, relationship building is key, and this is something no service should do on your behalf.
Some crowdfunding promotion services do take into account these criticisms and offer personalized packages instead. Doubt still stems, however, from how the business proposes to follow-through. Transparency, like in a crowdfunding campaign, is essential. If you feel as if a particular service hides behind jargon or unsubstantiated claims, stay away.
Need More Information Or Advice?
As explained at the beginning of this post, legitimate services do exist, and we wish not to dissuade you from seeking professional assistance. The take-away, however, is to practice good judgement. Stop for a moment and ask yourself if the promises are realistic.
To do so, price-out each service based on market averages (i.e. median cost of a press release, landing page, video, advertisement, and so on), then gauge the distance between the two numbers. You can also verify a service’s testimonials by following up on select campaigns. Look for reviews on different websites too. Thankfully, many portals now have referral systems in place, so you can directly ask a trusted service for help.
