When daybreak hits, most caffeine addicts fiendishly anticipate their coffee fix. a staple of many mornings includes the painful alarm clock buzz, quickly followed by a haphazard preparation of a freshly brewed mug. but what if your alarm could make your coffee for you?
British designer joshua renouf has realized a solution for the masses, concocting ‘the barisieur’, a fusion of a time-teller and java brewing system. rather than the irritating blare traditionally used to wake its user up, the alarm eases the sleeper into their day with the subtle movement of stainless steel ball bearings that boil the water through induction heating. additionally, it encourages a ritual before going to sleep, asking them to prep the beans, sugar and milk for the next day’s use, subliminally signaling to the body and mind that it’s time to relax.
