Best UK Restaurants 2015: These are Apparently the 50 Best Restaurants in Britain

The 2015 edition of the Good Food Guide has been published, revealing an apparently definitive list of the 50 best restaurants in Britain.

Topping the list as the UK's top eatery for the third year in a row is Simon Rogan's L'Enclume, located in Cumbria. Gordon Ramsay's flagship London restaurant, the imaginatively named Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, takes the second spot, with Pollen Street Social (London), Restaurant Nathan Outlaw (Cornwall) and Hibiscus (London) rounding out the top five.
The full list can be found below, with the food rating awarded by the guide to the establishments bracketed after each restaurant.
What you make of it, though, will probably depend on your gastronomic preferences and prejudices. While there's no doubting Rogan is a supremely talented chef, there's an overall, Michelin-esque bias towards classical cooking (i.e. expensive French food) to my eye, so it all reads a bit dated.
That said, the lower end of the list does feature some gems in The Sportsman, The Raby Hunt, Story, and The Dairy, so perhaps it's not worth dismissing entirely? Pack the company credit card and find out for yourself, or just let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
