CBRE, the global real estate advisor, has appointed Peter Barber to its UK asset services business as an operations manager within its growing shopping centre practice.
Barber will manage the operational requirements for 15 shopping centres in the South of England. He will work to deliver operational excellence across the centres, including securing business development opportunities, supporting onsite teams with risk management, developing teams and maintaining, and monitoring, appropriate supply chain partner support.
Barber has over 15 years of experience managing shopping centres nationwide including Beechwood in Cheltenham, Prospect Centre in Kingston upon Hull and Mill Gate Shopping Centre in Bury. He will report into Carolyn Mantle, operations director, UK asset services at CBRE.
In total, CBRE now manages over 50 shopping centres in the UK and across EMEA this figure rises to 265.
John Prestwich, head of retail management of UK asset services, at CBRE, said: “We are delighted that Peter has joined our team and welcome him on board. Peter is immensely experienced at managing shopping centres and will further strengthen the team which has seen substantial growth in the last three years.”
