If you're bored of the traditional Big Mac and fries then this menu inspired by the contents of McDonald's pantry is right up your street
A group of 40 food critics were given a surprise after a chef served them a menu - and then revealed the dishes were inspired by the contents of a McDonald's pantry.
The foodies were invited to sample an 'experimental' menu dished up by chef Neal Fraser from ingredients you wouldn't usually associate with the chain.
But what they didn't realise was that each of the Southern Californian menu items were prepared using McDonald's staple ingredients.
McDonald's has a formula for creating tasty dishes using different food stuffs.
But Neal raided their kitchens to create a five-course menu of avocado soup , buttermilk dressed romaine salad with bacon bits, meatballs and chicken wrapped bacon, finished with coffee custard and maple crumble.
