Growing Concepts of Multi Unit Operators
Concepts that have grown by at least 5% (if less than 50 units).
New Jersey-based GREAT RESTAURANTS (founded 1992) has increased by 1 unit, with the addition of a new concept called Tre Pizza Pasta & Beer Garden (33% growth). Other concepts include Metropolitan Café (1), Nonna’s Citi Cucina (1) and Rosalita’s Roadside Cantina (1). The restaurants are upscale Italian concepts, open for lunch and dinner, with a $15-$50+ per person check average. The restaurants have full bar and average seating for about 150. Catering is available. All the locations are in NJ.

Fort Lauderdale, FL-based LESTER’S DINER has increased by 1 unit, from 3 to 4 (33% growth). These family/casual restaurants are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving American cuisine. Per person check average is $6-$15+, serving beer and wine. Seating is for about 250. All the locations are in FL.
Dallas, TX-based FOGO DE CHAO CHURRASCARIA (founded 1979) has increased by 7 units, from 36 to 43 (19% growth) and entered into LA. This upscale Brazilian steakhouse is open for lunch and dinner, with a $15-$50+ per person check average. Restaurants have full bar service and average seating for about 200. Trading areas are AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, LA, MA, MD, MN, MO, NV, NY, OR, PA, TX, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Toledo, OH-based MARCO’S PIZZA (founded 1978) has increased by 132 units, from 574 to 706 (23% growth) and entered into Puerto Rico. These quick serve pizzerias are open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range. Limited seating is available. Locations offer catering, delivery and online ordering services. All units are franchised and trade in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV, Bahamas and Puerto Rico.
New York, NY-based BLT RESTAURANTS (founded 2004) has increased 3 units for the BLT Steak concept, from 11 to 14 (27% concept growth) and 1 unit for the BLT Prime concept, from 1 to 2 (100% concept growth) and added new concepts, The Wayfarer (1), Horchata (1) and By Chloe (7) for an overall company increase from 14 to 28 (100% growth). Other company concepts include: Casa Nonna (1), Blt Burger (1) and The Florentine (1). These upscale restaurant concepts are open for lunch and dinner, offering multiple types of cuisines. Full bar service is available and seating is for about 150. Trading areas are CA, FL, IL, MA and NY.

New York, NY-based BLUE RIBBON RESTAURANTS (founded 1992) has increased by 1 unit for the Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken concept, from 1 to 2 (100% concept growth) and added a new concept called The Ribbon (1 unit). Other company concepts are Blue Bibbon Sushi Bar (1), Blue Ribbon Bakery (1), Blue Ribbon Bakery Market (1), Blue Ribbon Beer Garden (1), Blue Ribbon Brasserie (2), Blue Ribbon Hi-bar (1), Blue Ribbon Sushi (2), Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill (3), Brooklyn Bowl (3) and Downing St Wine Bar (1). Overall company increase was from 17 to 19 (12% growth). The restaurants are mostly upscale, with a $15-$50+ per person check average. Multiple cuisine types are served. Average seating is for about 100, with full bar service. Banquet rooms are available. Trading areas are CA, NV, NY and London.
Austin, TX-based ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE CINEMA (founded 1997) has increased by 12 units, from 20 to 32 (60% growth). This is a family/casual dinner theater concept. Per person check average is $10-$30+, serving American cuisine. Units seat about 200 and offer full bar service. Private party facilities are available. Locations are franchised and trade in AZ, CA, CO, MI, MO, NE, NY, TX and VA.

Fort Lauderdale, FL-based ANTHONY’S COAL FIRED PIZZA (founded 2002) has increased by 7 units, from 52 to 59 (13% growth) and entered into RI. The restaurants are family/casual, open for lunch and dinner, with a $10-$30+ per person check average. The restaurants serve beer and wine, with average seating for about 70. Catering is available. Trading areas are DE, FL, MA, NJ, NY, PA and RI. We last wrote about this concept on 8/25/15 (8% growth).
Miramar Beach, FL-based ANOTHER BROKEN EGG CAFE (founded 1996) has increased by 5 units, from 51 to 56 (10% growth). This family/casual concept is open for breakfast and lunch, specializing in breakfast foods. Units seat about 100 and offer full bar service. Per person check average is $6-$15+. Catering is available. Locations are franchised and trade in AL, CA, FL, GA, IN, KY, LA, MS, NC, OH, SC, TN and TX. We featured this concept on 9/15/15 (38% growth).
