Welcome to our definitive list of the ‘Top 100’ franchises operating in Canada. Representing franchises with the highest number of units, the rankings are based on the total number of units in each franchise (high to low). The only stipulation for entry to this category (and all other categories) was that the companies listed must have franchises currently operating in Canada.
The listing focuses only on the total franchise units in Canada and is irrespective of the number of units a franchise system may have internationally. Although franchises originating from all corners of the globe were welcomed, the list features Franchisors predominantly from North America, heavily influenced by the U.S.
At first glace perhaps there are no surprises at those occupying the higher rankings of our list are the most recognizable brands that we see every day. Take a closer look and begin to get an idea of just how varied Canadian franchising really is. Spanning over 18 different industries, this is a true representation of how the franchise market in Canada looks today.
