An uphill struggle for downtown Rieti and strategies and tools to revitalize Abruzzi’s city on the crest

Come and learn about successful downtown revitalization tools set in place in the Natural Shopping Centre of Rieti, one of Central Italy’s most unique cities, through award-winning strategies and tools from one its main advocates.
The same tools will be used to discover the best revitalization practices to revive the earthquake-shattered Italian region, in particular the downtown of Chieti, Lanciano and Vasto and L’Aquila.
The session will present the “rise” of Rieti’s downtown, unusually developed along an uphill winding road, and its uphill struggle to become an attractive, animated and lively centre again and the starting of a new project to revive the downtown of Chieti, Lanciano, Vasto and to create a shopping center in L’Aquila, the town struck by the recent earthquake.
