Telford Shopping Centre has announced one of its longstanding employees, Doug Lebeau, has been shortlisted in the operations manager of the year category at the Sceptre Awards 2015. The national awards recognise best practice in the shopping centre industry, putting the spotlight on management teams, retailers and suppliers that demonstrate excellence.
Doug Lebeau stood out to the award panel for his long list of accomplishments during his 18 year career at the Shopping Centre. In 2014 he helped the centre win a Green Apple Award by persuading over 160 retailers to comply with new practices. He has also organised a new and effective security procedure, which received compliments from the highly regarded Special Branch Unit, as well as successfully developing a top quality managed Shopmobility facility which provides bespoke driver training – the first UK shopping centre to do so. Doug Lebeau commented: “I am thrilled to have been shortlisted for this award. I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Telford Shopping Centre over the last 18 years and have been able to work on some interesting projects. The successes achieved so far were only possible through working with our fantastic retailers and front of house staff so I would like to thank them for their support.” Speaking of the awards, Centre Director, Chris Jones said; “The Sceptre awards are very prestigious accolades in the retail industry, acknowledging those who have worked hard to deliver excellence, and we are thrilled Doug has been shortlisted. It is a huge recognition of all his hard work and a commitment to strive for excellence in his field.” The winner will be announced on the 23 June 2015 at a glittering ceremony at The Dorchester, London.
