The 2015 Next 20 chains are both established — they posted $1.52 billion in sales in their latest fiscal year — and still developing. Limited-service and casual-dining concepts dominate the group, which has shown flexibility in trying new formats, footprints and markets. The brands vary widely in size, from sandwich chain Newk's Eatery, with $141.6 million in U.S. systemwide sales, to Burger 21, with $18.1 million.
