Zara has opened a new flagship store in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood. The store is located on 503-511 Broadway. It has over 47,000 square feet of retail space.
The store was designed by Zara's own architecture team. They recovered some of the building's original landmark features, including its original cast iron facade, interior and brick wall. The building was first constructed in 1878. Zara collaborated with floral artist Mark Colle for a special installation to celebrate the opening.
Pablo Isla, Chairman of Inditex, talked about the store's location in a statement: "It is particularly relevant for several reasons: the quality and size of its location, the environmental component that promotes the goals of our eco-efficient store project, its design, and its technological proposal. From today forward this new flagship will undoubtedly be a global benchmark."
Inditex is a Spanish multinational clothing company and the parent company of Zara. Zara now has 71 U.S. stores. These include eight locations in Manhattan.
