Estranged son says he has not been offered a penny from family
THE estranged son of lottery winner Sonia Davies says she has not offered him a penny since winning £61million.
Spencer Pugh, 24, told how his mum rang on Sunday to tell him of her EuroMillions jackpot — but never said if he would get a share.
He revealed: “She just told me not to tell anyone.”
Sonia, 53, partner Keith, and Spencer’s two sisters will get £12million each, along with the eldest daughter’s boyfriend.
The group from Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, enjoyed a champagne celebration today but Spencer was not there.
He confirmed his mum called him on Sunday to tell him about the win.
Asked if he was getting a chunk of the winnings, he said: “Well, she has been away.
“We spoke on the phone but before that I hadn’t seen her in person for, well, a while.
“So we haven’t spoken about any of that.”
Spencer was raised by his dad Chris from the age of eight after his parents split.
Sisters Stephanie, now 23, and Courtney, 19, went to live with Sonia.
Tonight, Chris, of Gloucester, said he and his son have a “tranquil life” and that Spencer has a “fantastic career” at a food processing plant.
He said of Sonia and his daughters: “They must be ecstatic.
“I’m chuffed for those girls.
“We’re just an ordinary, everyday family that sadly came to grief.”
Asked about Spencer’s relationship with Sonia, he said: “There isn’t a problem with his mum.
“I don’t know why he wasn’t at the announcement today.”
But Chris’s new partner, who did not want to be named, said their side of the family had “nothing” to do with Sonia.
She said: “Spencer has his own life.”
Spencer narrowly avoided jail and was fined £4,000 in 2012 when he broke a man’s jaw with a single punch, leaving him having to wear a metal plate in his mouth for the rest of his life.
