A million dollars isn't what it used to be, especially in the world's luxury real estate markets.
According to a new survey from Knight-Frank, $1 million buys you only 17 square meters, or 183 square feet, in Monaco, the world's most expensive real estate market as measured by average cost per square foot.
Hong Kong ranked second, with $1 million buying you only 20 square meters, or around 215 square feet. In London, you'll get just a wee bit more for $1 million, or about 21 square meters.

Whole Foods has started cutting prices to better compete with traditional supermarkets.
The grocery chain hasn't provided many details on the price cuts, so the product review site Cheapism.com checked a Long Island, New York store for the best deals.

Dubai retains the top spot in the MENA region, while Vienna is named as the best globally.
Dubai remains the top city in the Middle East for quality of living, ranking 74 globally – down one spot from last year, according to latest annual global Quality of Living report published by HR consultancy Mercer.
Neighbouring Abu Dhabi came second in the region, ranking 77 this year, moving up one place from 2014. Muscat (ranking 104), Doha (108) and Amman (122) rounded off the top five in the region.

Italian group Luxottica, the world leader in premium eyewear and sunglasses, said Monday that its net profit had grown by 18% in 2014 to 642.6 million euros and that it is optimistic about 2015.
Its revenues increased by 4.6% to 7.652 billion euros, the company said in a statement. Its proposed cash dividend more than doubled, going from 0.65 to 1.44 euros.
