As gas prices hit the lowest point they’ve been in nearly four years, it could be good news for bars.
When Americans spend less on gas, it means they have more disposable income. Gasbuddy.com estimates Americans are saving an extra $110 million a day when gas prices are about $3 per gallon.
Americans, especially those who live paycheck-to-paycheck, are more likely to spend the money they save from cheaper gas. To boot, the economy is improving and the data experts predict a better Christmas season for all.
According to Deloitte, a data research firm, retail sales could rise by as much as 5% this Christmas season. At least some of that money will be spent in restaurants, bars and other entertainment venues after people tire of shopping.

There's something very particular about a newspaper's core personality, that safeguards a deep sense of its spirit, that makes it easy to recognize, any time, any place.
I recall when Fabrizio Galimberti, a longtime writer and editor at this newspaper, told me years ago: no one can hope to truly know Italy if they haven't read Il Sole 24 Ore, its daily report on the economy and finance, its wealth of valuable information for the professional class and business owners, its commitment to content that based on facts, and to a high level of cultural engagement.

Soledad Martinez was born in Vienna to Chilean / Spanish parents. She moved to Chile with her mother and brother at the age of ten where she lived for the next twenty five years travelling back and forward to visit her dad in Vienna. Soleda studied architecture and married a Chilean businessman. She has two children Sofia (17) and Juan (15).
Soledad always had a fascination for Europe. That is why, when with her husband they had decided to move abroad for a couple of years to do some post graduate degrees, Europe was the only option in her mind. They wanted their children to learn English (they where 10 and 8 by then), so that narrowed it down to the UK and Ireland. They had to decide between living comfortably in a smaller city or very tightly in London. They chose the second alternative.
