An extraordinary selection of the Uffizi Gallery is now temporarily hosted by Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum
“The Uffizi Gallery in the art city of Florence was founded to preserve the art collections of the Medici, a wealthy banking family of the Renaissance. The gallery’s name, Uffizi—a word meaning “offices” in Italian, derives from its original use in the 16th century as the city’s administrative office building. Today, the Uffizi Gallery is famed for its collection of masterpieces of Italian Renaissance art, including Botticelli’s Primavera and the Birth of Venus”.
It is quite surprising to read such a detailed presentation of one of the most famous Italian museum, the Galleria degli Uffizi” in Florence, on a Japanese website. The reason why this is happening is that a few days ago the Uffizi made their debut in Japan, with an exhibition entitled “Arte a Firenze da Botticelli a Bronzino: verso una ‘maniera moderna’” at the Metropolitan Art Museum in Tokyo.

Italian automaker Maserati is bringing its centennial celebration to the United States to build more brand unity.
The tour will stop in key U.S. cities and the brand expects more than 100 owners to attend each rally. Branded events often act as the glue that holds consumers loyal to a brand, especially when the events attract like-minded people who can share their passion.
“Driving events definitely bring in brand loyalty,” said Lauren Fix, automotive expert, Lancaster, NY. “Driving events have been around for many years, as a result they have brought in car enthusiasts as well as conquest customers from other similar brands.
“The key is to showcase the cars’ capabilities and educate drivers to be safer on the street and on the track as well,” she said. “It creates better drivers all the way around!”
Ms. Fix is not affiliated with Maserati, but agreed to comment as an industry expert.

Last week, Retail Gazette reported Mulberry’s significantly low sales figures, as they issue their fifth profit warning in just two years.
Mulberry’s sales dropped by 17%, whilst shares in the company fell by 10%. Retail professionals argued that the failing level of sales is due to the company operating without a chief executive and creative director.
Former creative director Emma Hill left Mulberry in September last year, claiming she’d had ”disagreements with management over creative and operational strategy.” After Hill’s departure, the luxury handbag brand which makes their goods in Somerset, was unable to showcase collections in both London and New York Fashion Week – a pinnacle event for fashion brands.

The natural food chain introduces a cutting-edge ranking system for fruit, veggies, and flowers.
Whole Foods announced a produce rating system this week, a move that will allow shoppers to choose from fruits, veggies, and even flowers with "good," "better," and "best" labels.
The new Responsibly Grown program's ranking system assesses growing practices that impact human health and the environment. For instance, it prohibits some of the worst neurotoxic farming chemicals still allowed in farming. The program has been launched with ratings for hundreds of produce items, more than 50 percent of the chain's produce nationwide. The company said the goal is to reach 100 percent of the fruits, vegetables, and flowers in its stores, so that, over time, all have a "good," "better," or "best" rating.
"Once again, Whole Foods is setting the standard—and the pace—among major American food retailers for environmentally responsible food production," Ken Cook, Environmental Working Group's president and cofounder, said in a statement. "This is very good news for produce lovers—especially moms and dads concerned about pesticides on fruit and vegetables."

Memo to staff from CEO Dave Lewis indicates imminent ‘clear and accurate indication of income’ and update for shareholders on investigation
Tesco is expected to blame a small group of staff for deliberately misleading its auditors about a £250m profits black hole, when the UK’s largest supermarket group finally reports its delayed half year results on Thursday.
In a memo to staff, chief executive Dave Lewis said he was now in a position to provide a “clear and accurate indication of our income for the first half of the year”. He will also update investors on the initial findings of an investigation by auditor Deloitte and law firm Freshfields, who were called in to examine Tesco’s books in September. Investigators are thought to have found evidence that profit manipulation began more than a year ago.
While there had been concerns that the grocer could be forced to restate profits for previous years, it is understood the damage has been confined to 2014. Tesco’s trading profits are expected to have fallen to around £850m for the six months to the end of August, £250m less than the £1.1bn originally forecast.
